    Rocketry in Jardiance Commercial

Tonight I saw a Jardiance commercial featuring a family attending a model rocket launch. The main character was directing launches of a rack of models. It was an ideal community 'rocket fair' as the banners said with a lot of people having fun flying and lowering their A1c. The rockets and...

what brand spray paints are enamel or lacquer?

I know that in painting a normal model rocket you don’t spray lacquer over enamel because it will burn the finish. But paint cans from most hardware/craft stores don’t always say what they are. I’m holding spray cans of Rustolium and Krylon and the words lacquer and enamel are not on the labels...

    Aerotech catalog obsolete

The Aerotech product catalog online and even the printed version given out at NARCON is woefully obsolete by years. I'l like to shop for their motor reloads and make design decisions comparing the performance with all the actual existing selections, particularly the new ones. Is there somewhere...

    New way noseweight

I just finished building the New Way Mark 4. This is one of those square box body kits. The instructions call for installing the included washer noseweight, but I don't think it should have a stability problem with swept fins and an already heavy solid balsa nosecone. Has anyone flown this...

    Explorer 1 55th Anniversary

January of 1958 was a frantic time for the U.S. Army Ballistic Missile Agency. The Soviets had launched Sputnik in October and the Navy Vanguard rockets crafted to catch up with them weren't working. Since NASA didn't exist yet, the Army at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama was suddenly...

    shuffling flight cards

At large launches with 20-30 or more pads possibly loaded up at a time, what is the best way for the LCO to manage all the flight cards to call out the rocket info as it is launched? I know 'a big clipboard' of some kind will help, but what are established ways your club does this to keep all...

    What scifi movies?

What are some scifi movies or tv shows that depicted Earth in the future but without space travel? Nevermind films with the apocalyptic scenarios like "mad max" but have rather a static post modern 'brave new world' society?

    parasite foam gliders

For boosters that are about the same length as a foam parasite glider, I understand that it's more stable to have a balanced number of gliders symetrical around the core as in the old 'Space Twins' plans. But for a single parasite glider like the Orbital Transport, how long does the core need be...
