James, Looking forward to your presentation. Thanks for volunteering to do it. Cheers, Jon

    Wire strippers

Teepot, mo2872 and Joshua Smith all like the Vise Grip style, which I've had in a couple of different brands for maybe 10 years. Works great on everything that I’ve run through it. The MicroMark ones of the same style look a lot like what I have. I own all of the other options noted, but...

    Ethernet or Wifi to workshop?

I’m currently using RealVNC’s “free” account to do the same thing. Limited to 5 machines, but for most people, that’s probably plenty. RealVNC Home Subscription Cheers, Jon

    OpenRocket on M1 Mac?

Do you know if those Windows-based apps would run with something like CrossOver? IIRC, the current version is updated to run on M1 Macs. Similar to the WINE “recommendation” that @heada mentions, but offers support (for what that’s worth). Cheers, Jon

    New Way Exocet Build

Are the pictures you have included in your original post the 29mm tube solution? From the text, I would think not. Can you please post pictures for the this? I’m trying to figure out how you would arrange motor mount and baffle. Thanks. Cheers, Jon

Alpha III black decals - source?

Glen, Would printing on a laser printer solve the need for an initial clear coat before application? Thanks. Cheers, Jon

Estes AstroCam (5325) Unboxing Video, Instructions, and decals.

I just picked mine up from a local Target. Will see if I can get my oldest to help with the filming. And after I’ve got it open, I’ll scan everything for whomever might want it. Cheers, Jon

Does anyone have forsale Estes Pro Series II Mega Der Red Max ????

I’ve got two or three sets of parts (NC & tubes) that I ordered a while back, but I’d prefer to have a 3" version over the 4". If anyone is interested, PM me and we’ll figure out how to get them to you. Cheers, Jon

New Estes Rockets Coming at NARCON?

I’m going to keep checking the Target app & web site for one all the way here on the east coast. So far nothing listed on Target.com (which is one way I check store stock). 400 seems like maybe 1 for every other full-size store? We’ve got a bunch of “City” stores or whatever they are calling...

My 12v cluster launch controller build

Joshua, Looks pretty awesome. That battery box with the display looks very functional. Can you post some pictures of it “in use” as I’d like to see how visible those LEDs might be in daylight. I’ve been looking to re-build, or more likely, build a new controller. I’ve read all the threads...

    Estes 2020 Catalog Online

Replying to myself here, but I sent an email to Estes. C5s are June timeframe, but with the current situation, that might change.

    Estes 2020 Catalog Online

Well, maybe you might get your wish, someday. I was looking to see the availability of the C5-3 and in doing a search of their site found this in certificates of compliance: 001617 – C5-3 ENGINES 001620 – B8-5 ENGINES These are not active links (like most of the other engines listed), but it...

What did you do rocket wise today?

Doug, Do you have more detail about what that might have incorporated? Relay? It looks interesting, but trying to figure out the schematic from that isn't my strong suit.

What did you do rocket wise today?

Bruce, C11-3/5 are available again. AC Supply lists them on their Engines page. There was huge thread either here or on YORF about the this when they were first discovered to be be discontinued. Cheers, Jon

If Estes wants more of my money, then...

I'm in agreement here. I don't like FaceBook and even thought I have an account there, I login about once every two or three years. Too much of my personal information gets out of my control there and I don't trust them to honor any promise they make regarding that information. Estes has a...

    OpenRocket turns 10

What I'd like to see/have is an app, though a spreadsheet probably works, that lists pretty much every commercially produced rocket and recommended engines/altitudes. I suspect most people don't carry the build directions or card inserts from their kits with them when flying. If this...

What did you do rocket wise today?

I re-attached a PC laptop power connector a number of years ago with electrically conductive epoxy. Might be worth looking into. Here's a reference I turned up with a quick search: https://www.henkel-adhesives.com/us/en/products/industrial-adhesives/electrically-conductive-adhesives.html I...

    New interest in 13mm kits

FlisKits has a few, though I'm not sure what's currently in production. I've also built old Estes DOM plans, (e.g. BumbleBee) which are a lot of fun to both build & fly. Cheers, Jon

    OpenRocket turns 10

Chuck, I've got it working on my 2018 MacBook Pro. I can't find the reference on what I needed to do to get it working, but I'll look and update the reply when I do find it. Added 2019-05-24 10:40 EDT: I think this is the solution I'm using to have it work...

Doug, I just saw this today (2019-05-17), but that's a really nice birthday gift for me. Thanks for posting them. Cheers, Jon
