    Q-Jet E26 ejection charge size

Does anyone know the BP ejection charge size in the E26? (or D22 or E35, for that matter). My kids are designing rockets to fly at NSL in a few weeks. My son's design is BT-60 sized (~1.6" diameter) and has 36" of body tube length. I wanted to make sure there was enough uummph in the ejection...

Kids flying mid power at high power launches...Model Rocket Launch Area...but!?

Hey all. My kids are at a little corner of rocketry where I think it'd be easy to mess up the rules regarding who can go to which launch area. This potential gotcha also applies to any adult, non-certified flier who flies mid-power. I know I've seen this messed up. I've probably messed this up...

Favorite screw eye for a Wildman 38mm nose cone?

I bought some nice, small screw eyes a few years ago that'd work inside Wildman 38mm nose cones in place of the existing bolt as a harness retainer, but I can't find them and I can't find the email order info either. So, does anyone have a favorite small, but strong screw eye that'll work in...

    Wildman Competitor 4 current sizes?

I know Tim's super busy right now, so I figured I'd ask the forum instead. Does anyone know the current body tube lengths for the Competitor 4? The web page says it has a 44" booster & 22" payload. The rck sim file on that same page shows a 54" booster & 24" payload. Older Performance Rocketry...

Cool video from Hot Nozzle Summer 22

Jake Nixon just posted this. I wish I could have been there - looks like a ton of fun!

Horrible TRF ad placement - please fix!

Hey TRF/Cafe Media/ad-placement-folks, I know I'm not the only one seriously annoyed by this, so here I go. There's an ad placement that covers up anything useful in the top right corner if you're not scrolled all the way to the top (search, notifications, etc.). I get that you want to make...

iArrow on iOS is dead (bearing/range to coordinates app) ... any replacements out there?

To keep from lugging around receivers, antennas & wires when hunting for rockets, I used to just enter the coordinates into the iOS app called iArrow and let my iPhone point me which way to go. It looks like that app hasn't been updated in long enough that Apple removed it (or maybe the...

Hot Nozzle Society guide to high power rocketry

The #hotnozzlesummer folks put together a great intro guide to the hobby. It sounds like they had a great even this summer that got quite a few people into high power. Hopefully that trend continues with this guide. Link at the bottom of this page...

Proline 4500 accelerated cure times with heat?

Has anyone tested/measured/played with curing Proline 4500 epoxy at higher than room temperature? The spec sheet from Wildman gives data at room temp. Anyone have cute times for cures in the 105-120F range? Thanks!

CTI Pro24-6G case in stock anywhere?

I want to buy a backup Pro24-6G case, but I can’t find it in stock anywhere. Has anyone seen a new one in stock at a vendor? Any vendors out there want to share their secret stash? Thanks!

Best bench belt sander for sanding/beveling carbon fiber fins is...

I know routers are the new hotness, but I'd use a bench belt sander for lots of other things. So, it's time for a belt sander. I'd love to find one that I can set up some kind of guide so I can get specific & consistent angles on fins (I've seen others use popsicle sticks stuck on their sander...

    Let's see your rocket workshops!

We're moving to a new house next week and I'll have a dedicated rocketry workshop area. I'd love to see what other people have done for their rocketry corners of the world. Mine will be about 11x22 ft - about the size of a 1 car garage. While that's plenty space to build rockets, I know I could...

Alien Interceptor photos - post yours too!

I'm calling it done! I've been very slow working on my Alien Intercept 38mm XL, the mostly-minimum diameter BT-60 sized kit from Mach1, over the last year. I'm pretty much unable to build a stock rocket, so I cut new fins out of 2mm carbon and changed the shape a little. The paint is cheapy...

What's the highest voltage you run in your avbay?

I'm branching out my software business a little and designing some rocketry electronics. To make sure they work for the most people, I'd love to hear what battery voltages people are running in their rockets. I typically fly on 1S or 2S lipos, depending on the specific electronics. I know some...

    Madcow Broken Arrow 54 stability?

I've only flown my Madcow Broken Arrow 54 twice. The first flight was on an I140. It had a little wobble after leaving the pad that I originally attributed to the wind. The second flight was on an AT J270 and it was pretty wobbly until close to engine burnout. The fins are straight, the motor...

CNC lathe service for nose cone tips?

Does anyone have a favorite CNC lathe company they use for very small runs of aluminum parts? I'm looking to make my own nose cones, but I want aluminum tips on them. Thanks!

    New I motor record - 15,157'

The winds were howling at Delamar yesterday, but I managed to eek out a flight that should set a new I-motor record with my Vanish 38. The rocket took a pretty good turn off the pad from the wind, then flew straight to apogee. Tripoli Vegas' yearly Delamar launch has been really good to me. The...

EVENT Tripoli Vegas - Delamar Launch over Memorial Day weekend - 50k!

Our yearly launch at Delamar Dry Lake is coming up soon! We have our 50k AGL waiver in hand and we'll be launching May 24th - 26th. People generally camp there starting the day before the launch starts. You can also stay at a motel in Alamo, NV and drive out to the lakebed each day. With a 4500'...

    Broken Arrow 54 maiden flight

Kinda-sorta-mostly reposted from my webpage here: https://thedukes.org/2019/03/17/broken-arrow-54-maiden-flight/ After way too long with rocket building, painting, paint removing, repainting, and ground testing, I finally flew my Madcow Rocketry Broken Arrow 54 at Tripoli Vegas' SpringFest last...
