Nope, Tim's spinning chutes are on purpose. It involves offsetting the gores and putting a really good swivel on it. Here is an article on two ways to produce this with a plastic chute. Obviously, the second method could be used when sewing a nylon one...

Estes Gemini DC. I built three of those things, and of all the attempts I only got one flight where I got both chutes out. Several single chutes, a couple of fatal non-deploys, and one engine w/ vectored thrust that gave me a power prang. After that one, I swore off the entire design.

Does anyone know of a source of replacement ignitors for the 18mm and 24mm RMS and SU of Aerotech? I can never seem to get those copperheads to fit. I have a few "Firefly" ignitors left, but it seems they are no longer made (according to Ken Allen).
