    Alternative to Madcow Rocketry

OP here. As suggested, I called Madcow, and yes, they said there must be a mistake. They are supposed to send me an invoice with the correct shipping fee. Thank you everyone-

    Alternative to Madcow Rocketry

I just tried to order 4 pieces from Madcow. A 2' piece of 3" fiberglass airframe. 2 bulkheads and a 3" plastic nose cone. The shipping costs were quoted as $106. I feel this is outrageous. The airfame is to mate with a fin can that I already have. Can anyone steer me towards an airframe...

How Long to Hold Vacuum When Vacuum Bagging?

I suggest an inline ball valve in any case. By slowly introducing the vacuum to the part, you have time to adjust the bag as the vacuum process begins. Also, I take a small piece of layup and set it beside the rocket part being vacuum bagged, so that I know how the part is curing. Then stop...

    Open Rocket loading of motors

Now, one more question if I may. When I load a motor, I am loading the weight of the motor only. I'm assuming I need to add the weight of the motor case and closures as a mass object in the design to get the full design parameters.

    Open Rocket loading of motors

Tony- thank you! I followed your instructions and it worked fine. Maybe I just wasn't doing things in the right order. Charlie

    Open Rocket loading of motors

Hi, Could some one please tell me how to load a motor into the rocket design I have in Open Rocket. This is a 75mm minimum diameter rocket. I have selected the body tube configutation, clicked "motor", then selected "This component is a motor mount". When I then select "motors &...

    Aerotech online catalog

Hello, I'm the past I have downloaded a catalog of Aerotech motors and other things that they produce that had a list of all the motors they make. I haven't been able to find that now. I have googled it without success. Could someone steer me towards one? Thanks in advance-

    Improving igniters

Thanks for the replies. Rocketjunkie, those look good but the website doesn't mention them working in anything bigger than a C motor. I will be flying D motors. Also I was hoping to fly this rocket a week from now. There wouldn't be time to get something sent to me in that short a time...

    Improving igniters

Hello Forum, I believe this subject has been talked about before but I can't come up with it. I wish to fly a rocket with a cluster of 5 D motors. Is there something that can be done to insure a fast, hot ignition of Estes igniters? Something I could add to the igniter? I realize that...

    AeroTech Open Thread

Hello propulsion Forum, I have several 38 mm AT DMS motors. Has anyone ever used an Aeropac MD retainer with one of these motors? I'm not seeing how it would be possible without the threaded forward closure available with reload cases. Charlie

    Dedicated Stereo/Audio/Video thread

Hello forum audiophiles, Let me start by saying I know next to nothing about this subject. I recently built myself a detached shop here. Ideally, I would like to come in the door, flip on the lights and then flip on another switch that would start playing music. I would probably want to use...

What is the worst part about the hobby?

I believe this question was asked on the forum in the past. GROUND TESTING narrowly beat out sanding as I recall. I agree with the previous results. Charlie

Kreh Knot Now My Go to Knot for Tying Shroud Lines

I have always used a double half-hitch. I know it's pretty unsophisticated, but is it really that bad? I don't see it mentioned by others. It has never failed me and I have been able to take it apart without issue.

    O-ring tear

This is An AT M1315 in a 75 MM case. Thank you David and cross fire. I think the problem was I was putting the O-ring on the forward end of the nozzle when it actually was supposed to be on aft side of the projection on the nozzle.
