I got this nose cone (?) in a box of stuff stymye (our birthday boy!) sent me.

I think it was from a candy tube. It fits perfectly into a BT-60 size coupler so....I just had to make this.

Ply fins (from another candy box) really thin stuff too like less than 1/16" but more than 1/32".

One of the bats wings is a stand-off for the launch lug.

Just for fun.

It's A thru C powered.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

sandman:eek: :D

LOL, simply edible. You gonna launch her? Kermie sent me a rocket with a cow nose cone. I haven't launched it yet. :)

Sorry I don't have any more pumpkin nose cones...but I've been looking!

That's all that symye sent me.

I do have a Pink pig I might use!

You guys have made me less efficient at stores!! Now when I go through a Walmart or similar store and pass any section that has things that MAY be aerodynamically stable, I have to stop and look and feel the balance while my wife walks by rolling her eyes.... heheh

Why limit yourself to Walmarts or similar, or even to stores ? :D I am always checking stuff out for rocket parts. Drives my wife NUTS :)

Nice rocket sandman!

BTW, I believe Halloween is the most rocket friendly holiday. Lots of parts around!

Ya gotta check out the Dollar store.. they are always loaded they Odd-Roc fix'ins:D

Sandman.. Great minds again...this one lights up and flashes for Holloween night flying alsoLD

sandman:

I am convinced(?) that holiday themed specialty rockets would sell.......

shockie B)

or how about HPR pumpkin lofting......
or how about taking a real pumpkin, core it our and place a body tube inside it.....add 3-4 fins......

place lights inside it for face designs....and lauch at night.....

anybody see the flamin' pumpkin last night?

Sand, Your rocket looks great! Even better then I imagined!
Micro, Your two rockets are right in theme with Sands here.

Cutt~

micro,

Maybe mine started life as a flash light, (a torch to our UK friends), just like yours.

I don't know...stymye sent it to me.

Hey, stymye! What was that?

it's the top from a flashlight that kids carry around on holloween night,.or they can be set in a window on the blink seting
the pumkin head contains the bulb

I did a variation of the "golden snitch" that was in Sport Rocketry.
Take a small plastic pumpkin (Oriental Trading Co.) 13 mm Motor
mount, and folded card stock "bat" fins.
Unfortunatly I'm Unable to post pics at this time.

Sandman:
This isn't a kit but ya might be able to produce them? The Witches brooms,BT-50 "Handle" 58" OA Legth, TT's heavy wall motor tubes would be even better. bottom 7-1/2" base (Foamcore) spreader ring, Broom head is from a "crafters boom"husks, powered by a D12-3, with 24" Black plastic " chute, Lay the husks on the base ring and fix with epoxy, tie the husks to the "handle"body with CA, Kevlar thread and flat corn husk "binders". Really neat 300' corkscrew type flight.
I figure you might get as many as 5 or 6 sets of husks from one 18" Craft broom. Might be worth looking into.. here's a pic

Another Holloween theme Odd Roc:
Sandman or jim this one would also be fairly easy to kit.
Flying Ghost. is nothing more then a sputnik, 4" styrofoam ball and 1/8" dowels, with a muslin fabric shroud and
"stiffened" with plain old fibric stiffener and black felt eyes. kicks a C6-3 or 0with streamer. only goes about 15' ,Bounce recovery, very low slow "draggy" funny flight:)

I think is one was an old reader design page in MR mag, back in the day. I just gave it a little character adding the eyes and ears, very fast, very wild boost on a B6-2, glides just ok, but I can't trim gliders worth a hoot or HOLLER:D
