I had more than 3 Months with out build a rocket, after the Saturn IB I remenbered how fun is build a cardstock rocket because this weekend was impossible to lunch rocket due the weather condition. I Built the Chang Zheng 2F (aka Long March 2F) 1:96 Scale, I don't remember where i downloaded. maybe was HERE

I converted to use a 18mm engine, but i'll configured to use a 1/2A with a engine adapter for backyard launch.

I'm Still working to calculate the CP, i don't know how right could be use the booster as a fin in Open Rocket.

So this is my second 1:96, i'm thinking which one will be the next !!!

I didn't feel that the card stock mount was solid to hold the booster, so i cut some balsa and glue it, i think will be hardest.

Looks great... congrats Montaro...

How is the stability?? Will you need fins on it or are you adding noseweight to bring the CG forward and sorta using the aft boosters as "pod fins"??

Very interesting! Later! OL JR :)

I don't know yet, I'm working on that, i think i will try to used as pod fins and adding noseweight to get the stability.

I'm reading this article to see if could be helpful https://www.apogeerockets.com/downloads/newsletter119.pdf

But i think i'll use the trial and error method :D

Great Job.

Yes, adding nose weight will allow the pods to be used as fins. Mine flies great on B6-4's.

Thanks Bob,

Good to know the pods will work with out a problem, dod you know where is the CG ? indeed do you calculated the CP ?

I was just going to check the CG but remembered that I had loaned it to a club member to be used in a rocketry display at an airshow and I don't have it back yet.

But, if I were guessing, I would bet it balances pretty close to the tops of the pods with a C6-5 in it.

Today I repaired my LM-2F due a tree landing issue  , I found the videos of the first two launches I don't remember which motor i use but i think was a "B"

Is it just me, or does this video not play?

Yesterday was a launch day, I flew this one now with C6-3, i think that the motor i should use, but i need to do some modification due the launch lug is in the body and the Payload fairing is a little more bigger than the body, so it loss some power.
