I am completing a build of a Grave Danger. What I want to know is which motors I should use for launches. I have some 24mm CTI reloads in the E impulse range, and some 29mm CTI reloads in the F impulse range. Will these be too much? How can I answer these questions via software? Which software is good? I am Mac and Linux based, so Windows software is not an option...

For those curious, the motor mount tube is for 29mm, and I have an AeroPack motor retainer and 24mm to 29mm adapter, along with one grain CTI 24mm and 29mm casings.

Thanks,

Tom

When in doubt, contact the manufacturer. I love Mercury kits. The Grave Danger will eat any E, F & G motor you throw at it and ask for more. I have also seen two awesome H cert flights as well.

Openrocket is a good and fun piece of software. It is also free!

First the instructions list good motor choices. I have this rocket and have sent it up on a few 29mm AT reloads in the F and G range with the latter being a G80 smokey (or something like that) and it has performed great every time.

My daughter's flies very nicely on the F40-7W (tad long delay on a windy day--drill out two seconds), or on the G64-8W.

F39-6T is a good one. Not too high and not too low. I have flown it on Estes D12's also. Makes for very interesting flights.
