Sure y'all heard this a million times.
First did rocketry in the 60's as a wee lad.
Then put it away until I became a dad in the early 90's
Had fun with my sons and then put it away again.
Now in my 60"s I have got the urge to fly again.
Hope it is true that you are never too old.

In case you haven't picked up on it yet, you're what's called a Born Again Rocketeer, or BAR. Since you've stopped and restarted twice you might call yourself a Born Again Born Again Rocketeer, but for two things. First, plenty of other BARs have done it twice and second, BABAR is a particular guy around here.

Where do your particular rocket interests lie?

Welcome KC ! If you do make it out to a DARS shindig be sure to wear a kilt so we can identity you. :)

FYI, Plano Parks and Rec has reserved a small patch of Bob Woodruff Park for model rocket launches from April to October. Get a permit here: 5901 Los Rios Blvd, Plano, TX 75074

[edit] And the correct term for your history profile is reBAR ! ;)

Thanks, I have about 8 rockets all estes form the 90" I built with my sons. Run of the mill stuff. Now that I am semi retired I want to get more into taking my time and doing a higher quality of builds. I just picked up a Estes 1/100 Saturn V and Mercury Redstone kits. Plan to take my time.
This high power and mid range stuff looks interesting but probably out of my price range. I plan on checking out the DARS and maybe get involved with some guys there

Yea thanks. I just picked up a permit from Plano this week. Plan on going out there with a few buddies to see if these old rockets will fly on Saturday to celebrate 50th anniversary. We are going to make a day of it launching, grilling, drinking and space movies. That will keep the wives away!
I was looking at attending the DARS launch in August, most definitely will wear the kilts. Hope the chiggers are not too bad!
Thanks for the warm welcome, I think i am going to like y'all

At my daughter's wedding in 2010 at Gillette Castle, CT.
