I was thinking about the folks who have special dietary needs here. I believe posting ingredients and photos of 'better menu' items could benefit this forum. Could be a life saver.

For lunch I had a meatball sandwich.
Dinner was pizza.
My special dietary need is marinara sauce.

Just ordered a stuffed Chicago pizza--super meat!!! Wow, nothin' like it!

I know most of the responses to this have been funny but you have a really good idea. I personally have multiple food sensitivities so eating in a restaurant or any food that I can't read the entire ingredient list for is a crap shoot. Our son has food sensitivities. And for the love of God, don't let cwbullet eat popcorn!

Still have 30 min. on my Grub Hub delivery, but pics forthcoming on best stuffed pizza in Chicago Western suburbs upcoming...

Well no photos but I made chicken with honey and cayenne and more Greek salad with cucumbers, tomatoes, green bell pepper, red onion, feta, red wine vinegar, oregano and minced (that's right) anchovies. Not that I have to mention this but no additional salt was added. Substitute Kalamata olives for those tadpoles.

That is more than half-healthy, but great submission. Wait until my super great tasting pics!

I will go back under my rock (research forum).

I am a type 1, have been since 24 (late bloomer par for the course). This is what I currently eat for lunch everyday. 200g of kale, 100g of beats, 100g of tomato bocconcini salad. I am slowly moving towards a more whole vegetable diet, less meat, eggs and dairy.

I have a tree nut allergy for which I carry an epipen and dining out always seems like russian roulette. Add on my various food sensitivity issues as well as Wayne's food sensitivities and his recent shellfish allergy which developed out of the blue and we pretty much prefer to eat at home (or at our trailer when we go to rocket launches). We have been eating organic for over 30 years along with ditching high fructose corn syrup and GMO's. We buy our chicken, beef and pork from a local rancher who raises them in the desert with no hormones or antibiotics. The eggs and most vegetables we purchase from a local organic farmer except during the summer when nothing really grows here in Arizona and we have to rely on local grocery stores for our organic produce.

We have made pretty good pizza at home, but tonight's menu is grilled beef steak, grilled asparagus, baked russet potatoes and sauteed mushrooms in butter. Tomorrow's breakfast is eggs with bacon we made from brining and smoking the fresh side from the half pig we bought last month (we don't add nitrates) and piece of toast smeared with organic peach jam that Wayne made last week with a low sugar recipe (Wayne is Mr. Baker and Mr. Jammer - I do the smoking and the grilling). Lunch will be a mixed lettuce salad with my apple wood smoked chicken. Tomorrow's dinner will be a piece of Halibut that my father caught off the coast of Oregon baked with shallots, tri-colored bell peppers and tomatoes over saffron rice and Wayne is baking a chocolate cake from scratch with homemade chocolate frosting. Organic whole milk for him and a nice Merlot for me.

Next weeks menu includes baked pork loin with braised fennel, caramelized carrots and herb roasted potatoes; Turkey Enchiladas; and "blotas" with the leftover bacon from tomorrow's breakfast (Bacon, Lettuce, Onion, Tomato, Avocado and radish Sprouts).

We figure eating "healthy" is eating real food made from fresh ingredients which don't come from a package that has an inch of "ingredients" most of which you can't pronounce and have no idea what they are or why they are in your food. Of course, it helps to like to cook and I meal plan to keep from food spoilage and to rotate the menu so we are not eating the same things all the time. We aren't perfect with our eating (Wayne has a weakness of Newman Organic Mint O cookies and Trader Joe's Chocolate Peanut butter cups and well, okay - me too....) but figure if we are 80/20 we are doing good. That 20% included eating at the Taco Tren food cart at LDRS at TCC in May. Carne Asada Tacos to Die For.

Man, was this a funny read..
Thank you all so much..
For me,
I just need to stay away from carbs..
Sometimes that can be easier said then done though..
Today I will though as we have some friends coming over so a lot of tonights dinner is coming out of the smoker..
I have a brisket in now and some chicken too...

Forgot to post the perfect Chicago-style pie:

Looks good!
I may be driving by Chicago in a few weeks, need a recommendation of a pizza joint.

I can eat anything, stuff that would kill a coyote. In Mozambique we ate food from kids selling along the highway. Guide said they leave the feet on for an indication of species! In camp ate hippo (not a whole one).

Place looks good, I have never thought to put anchovies in a sub sandwich.
Parking not so. I will be driving a crew cab long bed truck towing a sailboat.
Problem with many good place in older cities.

Find a secure place to park and take a cab. Maybe from the marina?

It's been many years since I've been there. A unique and historic restaurant. I can still smell the cooking. ;)

Ah, yes, site of the St. Valentine's day massacre. Besides the grinders, they have out of this world salads (no really!) and famous flat bread.

What I drink is what kills me. I’ve been focusing on cutting out all sodas, beer, and Red Bull. My Red Bull addiction is at crack like levels.
