This Saturday (Nov 15th -weather permitting) is our last scheduled launch of the year!

Come one, come all! :) Hey, the hot dogs ALONE are worth the trip!

Not sure what I'll be flying, but I WILL be flying!

Hope to see you there.

NOTE: If you are looking for any parts/accessories (something other than kits), be sure to send me an email (no PM's please) and I will be sure to bring it along.

Right now the forecast for Saturday doesn't look so good but we've got Sunday if necessary. I'd be depressed if I thought a forecast this many days away had a good chance of being accurate.

:D

Will you use a Super-Hero cape? Or just a hole bunch of canted motors?

Saturday-Sunday what ever, I will be there.

hhmmmmm.... well, all of my kids call me "rocket man"... This has possibilities... LOL

A leotard with a cape, blue and yellow with that distinctive angle, a big "R" with a silhouette of a Deuce across it...

Now where IS that sewing machine...

LOL

If you did I can guarantee there' would be a picture of you here before the launch was over. However, it would probably get this thread pulled. Now that I think of it, just the description might be enough.

Plus, if I'm going to do it right, I'm going to need to squeegee this body into a size MEDIUM leotard...

Picture THAT! :D

Oh, and don't stand too close, cuz when the seams let go it's gonna be SPECTACULAR...

:rotflol:

What's the word/feeling about the weather? Right now Sunday does look like the better day...

Just let me know and I'll bring the video camera. I wonder if the Time Warp people would be interested.

The forecast for Saturday is now up to 80% chance of rain. Sunday is around 20% but it's going to be windy. I'll look at it again on Friday.

Been ill all week, so if the launch is on Saturday I may not show up for fear that I may get worse. If it is on Sunday, I been asked to take my Dad to the Airport... so looks like that's out for me too :(

If I miss the launch, and you wanted a LOC kit, contact me and we can arrange something.

Would it be possible to push this off till *next* weekend?

Just a thought...

Looks like our choices for this weekend are:

Sat: Moderate wind, lotsa rain
Sun: Lotsa wind, moderate rain

We'll try for that if we have to cancel. Right now it doesn't look too good for either Saturday or Sunday but I'm still holding on to the last minute.

If we have to cancel we're all coming up to your house to help with you're kitchen floor.

You know the weather is going to be bad when they're forecasting 100% chance of rain. Saturday is out. Maybe Sunday if they back off on the winds. Right now they're calling for 15 to 20 MPH.

Sorry Guys, I Jinxed it at the last launch when I said "it won't rain, we have not canceled a launch due to rain this year." It's all my fault.

Lol

Anyway, if its on Sunday, I won't be able to make it :(.

Uhg... I guess we know what is going to be auctioned off at next year's NARAM.

Now there's and idea. But we'll need someone to model it. Scott??

===============================

Looks like our last launch of the year has been called due to weather... We're going to try to get the field and waiver for next weekend. Stay tuned...

Bummer too, as this weekends *temperatures* would have made for some great flying :)

We're on for Saturday 11/22 if the weather cooperates.

Talk about weird November weather. I mean, even for New England....

Last weekend we were 20+ degrees above normal. Would have been wonderful but for the rain (sat) and wind (sun)....

THIS weekend we're going to be 10 degrees BELOW normal... Heck, if we're lucky it'll warm all the way up to freezing! LOL

Ahhh, rocketry in New England...

Dress warm folks! The hours for this launch have been modified. Flying is from 11:00 - 3:00 with set up at 10:00. Parking rules apply (park at the main parking lot at the field entrance).

Hot dog volunteers needed (you get to stand near the cook stove) and shuttle van drivers are also needed (you get to spend some time in a warm van).

Bring lots to fly! :)

I will be there with a full booth so buy early, buy often. Also, if you want/need something other than kits, send me an email and I will gladly bring it along.

See you all Saturday!

Did you notice the wind in the forecast? It looks almost as bad as last Sunday. I'll keep an eye on it. We may have to go with Sunday. Or I may drag the launch controller over to by truck, put it on the seat and work from there with the engine running.

HHmmmm Sunday is looking a bit better. Not by much but any improvement could be worth it...

Keep us posted!

No go for Sunday.:(

I've got a bunch just waiting for decals, so I guess I would not have wanted to fly them anyway.

Maybe I can make it for the winter follies in Jan. It probably won't be any colder!

Mark

Bummer and fantastic all at the same time... :( :)

...

Was looking forward to another launch, but also happen to be hip deep in painting the kitchen (remember that new floor caused by the new fridge saga...?)

So, with everything primed we can put color on the walls tomorrow and I get to help as I won't be flying...

Probably just as well. I flew Thursday with my B&GC group. We were out there for about 40 minutes and in that time my HOT coffee froze solid.... bbrrrrr

Ah well, there's always our warm Winter Follies launch in January to look forward to :)

See you folks then!
jim

I really hated to end the flying season with a launch cancellation but there's no way that Sunday was going to be a good day to fly. I could picture a half a dozen of us huddled around my truck questioning our sanity for being there.

I was already questioning my sanity for even thinking of going.

I was outside for probably 1/2 hour today and I felt like a popsicle when I got inside.
