Just a shout out to jimcatz, who helped me sooo much this weekend. He gave me an I357, and let me fly an H128 in his Patriot. He helped me sooooooooo much this weekend. Also a great guy. He actually made me want to start coming down to Orangeburg. Also, chuck and Bridget Haislip. I swear they had everything in their trailer. Blackpowder, nuts, and poster sticky stuff were all things they let me use over the weekend. Not to mention they were super nice in letting us set up our EZ up touching theirs to let us get maximum shade.

Both of these people are great. If they had not been there, I probably would have had to improvise a ton of stuff.

I am glad to have met you and your family. You had some awesome flights. I am very impressed with your builds.

By the way, you won some Estes A10-PT motors. I will hold on to them till your next visit.

Matt. I so wanted to meet you and Chuck this time around. I know I really missed out. Freedom Launch is a premium in the line-up of events in my area but I just couldn't budget the event. Hopefully you'll be at the ROSCO event on October 12 & 13. Love to meet ya. LW and I have sights set on that one. Hope the humidity wasn't too bad on the field. It was really bad last year. I have a boat load of new stuff I wanna fly.

Ummm, Jimzcatz... You are one Z short!! I had a blast too Too bad you will miss my skid marathon Monday!!

Gary you were not the only one that could not make it. I had some unfortunate personal events take priority and had to cancel my reservations Friday at the last moment. The weather looked perfect this weekend. This was the first Freedom Launch I missed since moving to NC 9 years ago. :( Sometimes life just gets in the way of rocketry. Although I wont be able to fly any EX, I hope to make it to the October launch and debut a new V2. I had some carbon fiber warped tubing left over from my Honest John repair:).

Great flights. Unfortunate that life gets in the way sometimes. Hopefully we will see you on the field in October.

Jim a good guy?
Seriously though, he is......and, i'm sure that someday when i meet Chuck i will agree also.....;)

Its the people that make this hobby so dynamic and, fun....and, the great friendships that i have made....and, still yet too be made....that keep me coming back for more.

I agree. Jim is a great guy. Most if not all of the guys in the hobby will take taht extra step to teach a new hobbiest. You can not beat that.

Chuck, you weren't back home when I attended my last ROSCO event and there was a whole field that we labeled as "The Mud Bog." Many a rocket landed there and mine was the 1st. I was wondering if any of that was still an issue for Freedom Launch.

Matt, you're learning first-hand what makes rocketry so great -- the people, and their willingness to help others out!

The same field had been plowed again but it was dry enough you didn't sink in at all.

Thanks Tom. That's exactly what I needed to hear. Hopefully it'll be in even better condition come October. I was hoping you guys didn't have to deal with that at Freedom.

Kind of felt like you were walking on the beach...

Jim and Chuck good guys?!?!?!:eyepop: They are just a couple of us old curmudgeons! It was all an act!..LOL..Just Kidding! Yeah they are great guys..Especially Jim, Heather LOVES her shirt!:) Thanks a TON! You had a 'sparky marathon' on Monday???..Giggle..

Yea, my sparkie marathon kinda fizzled out. If fact, I only put up one rocket the whole weekend, with a Gorilla J450 Black Lightning. I have a new respect for those sparkies, I was inpressed. I would have been in really sorry shape if not for Matt and Aaron Schafer. They have way more energy than I do!! I really enjoyed just hanging out with everyone and I don't feel slighted in the least that I didnt fly much. Hey, do I get a refund on my launch fees??

Yep, your Night Fury with apogee main deployment drifted forever. It was worth the Pro-29-4G motor...
:)
