What would happen if you were to mix up some grains of different propellents. Let's say a four grain motor and use two white lightning and two dark matter with the dark matter as the last to burn. Would you have a white lightning cloud and then as that burns away and then comes on the dark matter at half way though the burn time. Is this possible to do and work. And a warning here that this is not something I am going go do. This was just a though that.it would look cool to see..;

What he said. You couldn't even get that full effect if you had one propellant on the outside and a different on the inside of the grain because the bates grains burn from the ends also.

In composite motors, all grains burn at the same time. You would basically get a lighter smoked sparky.

Pink motors are often mixed red and blue grains.

Ah, but if you did it in rod-and-tube configuration....

Or if you made it one long grain, with the fastest propellant on the inside and the slowest on the outside...

Like I said it was just a thought or if a manufacturer could pull of something like that.
