I was given the following requirements for kits that I have to get for our civil air patrol group:

Could you do some research and find some rocket kits that are inexpensive and fit the criteria of being models of actual rockets that have been used in history (Mercury, Saturn V, V2, etc). They need to be single stage.
Inexpensive means about $10-15 (with discount).

Thoughts?

A tad more expensive then what you looking for, but the Estes V2 or some of the Dr. Zooch kits might be worthwhile taking a look at.

I've used a coupel for our sq. that work well. Check Pratt Hobbies, for the Super Six, you can also get the booster for a 2-stage version. There is also the "D" region Tomahawk rocket for the scale rocket. Also, try ASP rocketry, for the School rocket, very inexpensive and a pretty sturdy flyer. (also has the TTW fins on that). Hope that helps!

I would also recommend Aerospace Speciality Products. They have several scale kits using 13mm and 18 mm motors in that price range. The 18mm WAC Corporal would probably be my choice. Also, the BMS / Peter Alway 13mm Arcas is a beautiful and accurate scale kit.

Cheers,
Michael

I will e-mail as requested, but my suggestion would be the Quest Terrier-Orion with a 40% off coupon factory direct or buy the discount online from a retailer.

Or the harpoon

Pratt Hobbies D-Region Tomahawk? Under $6 each.

ASP WAC Corporal? About $10 each

Estes Mini Honest John? About $8 each

My first thought was the Estes mini Honest John. I just built one and launched it for the first time last weekend on a 13mm motor. It's an easy build with a single color paint scheme and decent decals. A lot of the others mentioned sound good too.

The FlisKits Mercury Redstone fits the bill nicely. It retails for $14.95 and we offer a 20% edu discount. If you are looking for 10 or more, we can bulk pack them for even greater savings.
