Agreed. But at $22 + free shipping was too good of a deal to pass up.Well I wasn't intending on starting a shock cord material debate...My point was more of this kit is over priced (for me anyways) at an MSRP in the neighborhood of $50.

A little cheaper and free shipping here, but the LOC kit is $55 plus shipping.
Even at $47 shipped, you can get 2 of these DBRM. People think nothing of paying a few hundred for a HPR kit but scoff at the MSRP of an Estes kit that no one actually pays.A little cheaper and free shipping here,

In case people in this thread haven't seen it, you can buy twelve Generic E2Xs from Amazon or Walmart for less than double the MSRP of one by itself (albeit, due to an Estes barcode snafu, many people have received Wizards or even Alpha IIIs instead): https://www.rocketryforum.com/threads/generic-e2x-maybe-wizards-we’ll-see-bulk-pack-on-sale.171246/Speaking of which, what's the deal with charging $24 for a Generic E2X?

What in the world? Ridiculous because you can currently get that kit at ac supply for $9.37,Speaking of which, what's the deal with charging $24 for a Generic E2X?

You do realize the Amazon / Walmart deals are for a 12 pack E2X rockets...What in the world? Ridiculous because you can currently get that kit at ac supply for $9.37,
I do realize that when you can actually order those from amazon/wally world and get the correct rocket kits as there’s lots of posts saying they’ve received wizards or alpha III instead of the generic e2x. But I was actually responding to Ronz post about the ridiculous price on the generic e2x from Estes at $24You do realize the Amazon / Walmart deals are for a 12 pack E2X rockets...
Went to Harbor Freight for some other stuff and picked up a bottle of Gorilla Wood Glue to assemble DBRM with.
Don't Kikkoman when a Max is down...OK, but where does the Kikkoman come in?
Low sodium variety.... wise choice. To go on the fried rice that I eat after gluing the fins together.
Structural build of the DBRM is complete and the second coat of primer is going on today. I may actually have it ready for an upcoming launch on Saturday. Lugs were replaced with rail buttons and I added a goodly length of kevlar shock cord to the stock kit.
Is it a 4” diameter?AMW FiberMax

Given how the weather forecast totally sucks for maple syrup production after today, I may have a DBRM ready for the weekend too. Guess we may have to drag race those and our Krakens if I can make it. I suspect with the huge warmup coming I'll be spending my weekend cleaning maple equipment so it isn't nasty in case it gets cold again near the end of the month. But, I'd like to fly some stuff.
I noticed a couple areas of deep grain grooves on two of the fins that didn't fill well. I thought the filler/primer might just make for a passable finish but no such luck. I'll need to work in some more wood filler and give it another light primer shot sometime this week. If I make it to the club launch Saturday ( right now the weather looks iffy at best with rain Friday and snow Saturday in the forecast) DBRM won't be making the trip. I do think a trip to Bong is on tap for Thursday though. 60 degrees and light winds looks like a winner!
It’s back in stock, wait for the Citation Patriot Upscale Parts Kit to come back in stock for the other.
I have ply centering rings and fins on the way from Rocketry Works. I plan to upgrade the shock cord, replace he launch lugs with rail buttons and replace the Estes stickers with better quality ones from Sticker Shock. My Max came today. Took about 2 weeks. I may up grade it to plywood fins.
