OK not a picture but hopefully this will bring a smile

A wife was concerned about her husband‘s memory , it seem to be slipping.

She took him to the doctor. The doctor did a thorough examination which came back with no definite abnormalities.

The doctor had a discussion with them and said, “Basically, while there’s nothing that we find wrong, sometimes as people get older they do have some problems with memory. You may want to try writing things down.”

The couple went home

That night they were watching TV and the husband said, “I am going to the kitchen to go get some ice cream,Would you like some?l”

The wife said, “Thank you. I would like chocolate with sprinkles.”

The husband walked toward the kitchen and the wife spoke up and said, “Dear, you better write that down.”

The husband replied, “I’m only going to the kitchen, honey. You want chocolate with sprinkles. It won’t be a problem.”

He was gone for 25 minutes.......

He returned with a plate of fried eggs and toast for his wife.

His wife cried, “I told you you should’ve written it down! I wanted my eggs SCRAMBLED!”

I *THINK* that doesn't say what you think it's supposed to say...

I'm sure there's quite a few on this forum who can go faster than that on November 1st.

I'm sure there's quite a few on this forum who can go faster than that on November 1st.

I see people hosting a New Year's Day Speed Launch to ensure that the land use restrictions end on January 1 instead of waiting until March. 😀

Council / Counsel ... we should do away with all homonyms and cut down on the number of words people have to learn. JMHO.

That's an interesting one, because it could equally refer to two people--an elected member of the county council who is deputized to speak for them or the legal counsel for the county itself. I suspect the latter, but it could go either way.

The text is legal, so it's about 99.999% that Counsel is correctly used. That of course is not related to the joke that K'Tesh was intending to post, so I'm not sure why it's even being discussed.

In the meantime, today's XKCD is hilarious, worth reading the whole thing:

Of course pen-el-oh-pee rhymes ant-el-oh-pee!

Now if you hover your mouse over an XKCD comic, you get an additional zinger text. And then, if you really don't get it, there's always explainxkcd.com.
Which site is also useful when using a phone or tablet. When there's no mouse pointer to linger over the comic, you can read the alt text on explainxkcd, where it's written out beneath the comic.

"Hey Peny-loap, would you answer the damn tele-fony!"

I heard once about someone auditioning for something, asked to sing "Let's Call the Whole Thing Off", and didn't know the song. Looking at the sheet music, she saw "You say potato, I say potato. You say tomato, I say tomato. Potato potato, tomato tomato..." and had to ask what the point is.

On mobile devices you can tap and hold your finger until the mouse over appears.

As a southern-born Texan, I find this confusing due to the lack of correct answers amongst the options listed.

Lessee, I think I can help:

For the first question the correct answer would be:
D) All y'all.
"It says TEW or more; y'all need to use the plural..."

With regards to Penelope, the correct answer would be:
C) "Pen-ell-oh-pee??? Man girl, yer momma needs t' larn t' spayell!"

As far as who studies the stars, in some regions (certainly not all), the correct answer would be:
D) The National Enquirer or Peeple Magzeen. "Sump'nlike'at..."

As for "genre"...
D) "Looks kinda like it oughta say 'jeener' t' me..."

As to the accent on "Google":
C) "Not too sure 'bout that 'un; Folks 'round here mostly just say 'gewgl', I reckon".

The thing on the wall you drink from? Everbody knows that's...
C) The hose... "Youkiddin' me?"

GIFs:
"Y'mean them short little movies that just keep goin' round n round? We just call'em what ever they're showin', so I reckon you'd just call most of 'em..."
C) "Boobies"

As to baseball sized bugs, the correct answer around here would be:
C) "Skeeters"

The lines on the road would be:
F) "Suggestions"

As for the planet, the right answer would be:
C) "You are LYIN' to me Larry! Ther's no way in heyull them boys at NASA would evvr name a planitt 'Yer-Aynis'!"

Tool?
F) BFH... Nuff said.

There was technically one correct answer on the sandwich question, that being 'A'; however, more likely would be:
D) "A pretty good sammich, once ya git rid of all 'at sallid n' stuff..."

That scaly critter in the attic just might be:
C) Grannie

And, depending on how well you know the person that just sneezed, either:
D) "Blesha"
or
E) "Daggum son! Keep 'at (blank) to yerself!"

Hope this helps...🤠

That reminds me of an old discussion on a CBM BBS.
How do you pronounce "modem"?
MInd you, this was all in ascii text, no accent symbols, etc.
After it had run its course, I suggested "Maud-DEEM", a Dune reference.
