Per the other post, this got me thinking...
How do most pronounce decals? Is it even the right term?
I've heard DEE-cals, DEH-cals.. and I've always known decals to be "water slide"; a la plastic models. And if it had a sticky back, it was a sticker. Or label if it also had words on it. Also, I've seen the term 'Stencil' or (if I can date myself) 'Rub down transfer' or 'Letraset'.
We here at work have established that the term 'decal' is a 'printed on' identifier, like a rubber stamp applied graphic. We apply labels as warning notations, and we have an NSF & UL sticker we apply at the end..
(I remember buying my 1st R/C car, and it had "decals" to which the salesman said "They're really stickers..")
