How do people count CATO's in this thread? I had a rough day at ROC on Saturday. Two recovery failures and a CATO.

My policy is to count CATOs or chuffs that are hard enough that you won't burn the rest of the motor. I don't think there's a formal rule, so do whatever seems right to you.

That's gonna be a tough one, looking at the remains of your cato, there were some grains that didn't burn? Hard to figure out what you burned unless you weight the remains.....

If we're counting CATOs, I had an H250 burn go in Dalzell, SC this past weekend, took out a chunk of the rocket with it. Thankfully the AV bay, nosecone, electronics, and recovery gear all survived, so I'll have to find time to rebuild now.

Three motors burned out of four motors launched on Saturday. A triple motor cluster had one motor not light and one motor that lit but got the ematch head stuck in the nozzle, thrust vectoring the rocket sideways past 90 degrees and into the ground. Not the best outcome.

Last launch of the season for TRA/PHX. I flew several LPR/MPR on Friday before the wind got up. Sharon did a couple "C" motor rockets. Saturday was much better, the wind stayed down almost all day. Sharon flew her "Super Jart" on a 76/2500 Don Alexanders slow white, I flew four rockets, my dual deploy Argent on a G80, New Bunny scratch built (almost MD 54mm) on a K540 Metalstorm, R2-V2 4" V-2 on a J540 Redline and the Fire flyer on a 54/2000 Not your wimpy red:

More trips to Sixty Acres and two club launches. As usual, motors consumed when my wife flew her models are included since they come from the same supply. Five two-stage flights with one failure-to-light (backwards installed) sustainer motor. That A3-6 was not counted until it actually burned on the next flight. Motors from 1/2A through D, with all four Ds (D15T and three D22Ws) flown in my Green Eggs while test flying Eggtimer's telemetry setup with an ION altimeter.
