I think I bought a genuine 80/20 20 Series rail from Grainger:

The Mini Buttons from rail-buttons.com seem to fit correctly.

However, I am having trouble with T-nuts. I bought these from Amazon, and they are too big:

Here are the nuts directly from 80/20, which look different. I should probably just buy these.

Are there other sources for the correct T-nuts for 2020 rail?

I'm not sure what you're trying to do..
I used 10/24 carriage bolts with my 80/20. 2020 rail

Also..2020 can be slide inside 1010 rails..check some of the other 2020 threads..

I am trying to make another one of these wood brackets for the 20 series rail:

Yeah, for my 1010 rail, I used carriage bolts, but I had to grind down the heads in order to fit the slot. I was hoping to avoid that again. Also, I don't think a 6" 10-24 carriage bolt exists that would pass through a 2x6.

I have M5 threaded rod and M5 thumb knobs, so I was looking for M5 T-nuts to fit the 20 Series slot.

I think I need to go with a simple flat/square nut of some kind. The self-aligning nuts for 20 series are iffy or not found, even at McMaster-Carr.

I got some 8mm x 8mm x 3mm square nuts with M5 hole from Amazon. These seem to work OK to hold the 20mm rail to a piece of scrap 1x6 for the Jawstand bracket.
