Those Estes motors are pretty cool. I was surprised at the smoke and fire and noise they produce. And can be gotten at the Hobby Lobby for 40% off everyday.
Except when sold out of coarse. Pretty nice Mid_Power motor. Im going to cluster more of em.
Four F15s makes this a high power rocket. Actually, even two F15s pushes it into high power due to the propellant weight exceeding 62.5 grams.
And the 4-29SS is ready to go as the shorter by 13" version. I dont think it lost more than a couple oz. in weight. But im still going to give the F44-8s a go. A 6sec delay is best but only 4 and 8 are available. I hope its not coming in too fast at deployment. Got a pack of motors and looking forward to a pre spring launch. Pics include the F44 in the mounts- 29mm to 24mm adapters installed and my recent delivery.
Awesome! Looking forward to hearing this flight report and pics. Using MFs and ClusterFire?
Marcus, Those darned starters included with the F44's mis fire to often (my exp.) as they did this launch(popped but no ignition..Both at the some time, neither motor fired luckily). I put 2 -Q2G2 in secured with left over aerotech red caps and they fired off. I dont think its the starters themselves. I think they need secured up in the motor in a way that keeps them from popping out when they fire. Those F44's are nice little powerhouses. I have more coming but im using caps to secure them after 4 misfires(so far) using the rubber band method.Awesome! Looking forward to hearing this flight report and pics. Using MFs and ClusterFire?
I've had multiple F44 and G74 starters fail when taped in securely. While the rubber bands are a poor method of holding them in, and I always use a wrap of tape, I think the main issue is that there simply isn't enough pyrogen on them.Marcus, Those darned starters included with the F44's mis fire to often (my exp.) as they did this launch(popped but no ignition..Both at the some time, neither motor fired luckily).
