SEARS was invited to give a demo for the Patterson Elementary School in Panama City, FL for the second year. Patterson is a NASA Explorer school so they do many aerospace activities throughout the year. John Hansel, Tom Rackers (TWRackers) and I gave the demo and talk. This year we decided to focus on saucer type rockets since these are easy builds, very inexpensive and good for small launch areas. We used the 13mm free designs from Art Applewhite's website and also Applewhite's Hefty Serve and Store saucer. We included straw rocket launches and water bottle rockets in this years demo. Tom Rackers provided the water rockets and the launcher. SEARS plans to support the 4th grade classes at Patterson who will be building Quest Starhawks. The plan will be to launch the Starhawks at Tyndall Air Force Base like last year. SEARS will launch their Patterson Rocket, a PML D Region Tomahawk, at the same outting.
