I didn't have these ready to go when I announced the last batch of products, but they are too slick to wait for the next release, so they are debuting on their own.

Designed and produced specifically for high powered rockets. These tiny bulkhead electrical connectors are now available here: https://www.labratrocketry.com/product-page/electrical-connectors

Currently available to fit 1/8" bulkheads. 3/16" version coming soon.

3" bulkhead, e-match lead and 22 AWG wire for perspective.

Back in stock, including the version for 3/16" bulkheads!

These items have been so well received that we are expanding the line to accommodate almost any bulkhead. As such, a version for 1/4" bulkheads in coming, and a version with an insulating sleeve for use with conductive bulkheads. Once those stock items are a reality we will move to also accepting custom orders to accommodate bulkheads up to 1" think.

I had a question about these come in (kinda, it was relayed from a customer who saw a comment elsewhere, I assume on the Facebook or something), and I think it is good to address the concern openly.

The basic idea is, couldn't a quick link short the terminals? Yes, definitely, two exposed metallic terminals can be shorted by a metal quick link. I would recommend placing a small piece of masking or electrical tape over them before flying. I never thought to mention this explicitly as I always do that with any variety terminal to make them easier to clean later. These clean up very well regardless, but why make life harder than it has to be.

For what it is worth, the original designer of these (who produces them for me) has been flying them for years without incident. These were designed specifically for high power rocketry applications with the intent of making them small, functional, and pretty dang cool. They were never designed to be an all things in all situations, fool proof item. These will be the right tool for certain rockets, and maybe not for others...the right tool for the right job always.

If you have any questions, never feel hesitant to ask here, via PM, or through the website. If I don't think that what I sell is the right tool for your job I will tell you that (and I have told people that). I'd rather not sell you something than have you disappointed, or especially have you do something unsafe trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. The right tool for the right job, always.

A multipart update on these:

1) I'm restocked on 1/8" and 3/16" connectors...sorry for running out over and over, but these have been very popular, and caught me a bit off guard. Available here: https://www.labratrocketry.com/product-page/electrical-connectors

2) Connectors to accommodate 1/2" plywood bulkheads...specifically, bulkheads made from a double layer of LOC 1/4" plywood (which is 6 mm) are now in stock. Available here: https://www.labratrocketry.com/product-page/electrical-connectors

3) If none of these stock options work for you, then custom length connectors to accommodate bulkheads up to 1" thick are available with a 2-3 week lead time. Those can be ordered here: https://www.labratrocketry.com/custom-connectors

4) Should you lose the tiny little set screw that retains the wire lead, you can now purchase replacements here: https://www.labratrocketry.com/product-page/premium-electrical-connectors-replacement-screws

Also, the shop was getting a few too many things in it to be unsorted, so now if you hover over "shop" you can click on a specific product collection if you like. Everything is still available together by clicking on "Shop" directly.

Thanks again for all your support.

OK, I have to ask the question. brass side inside or outside?
You can install them either way, but I like the brass part to be inside the avionics bay so there’s a smaller amount sticking up into the nose cone or upper body tube section.

Also, are they insulated from the bulkhead itself? Carbon fiber is a conductor. At least enough to make bridge wires with, anyway. And are some bulkheads aluminum?
No, there is no isolation from the bulkhead. These are great for wood or fiberglass bulkheads, but for anything conductive, something else should be used.

I only mentioned that because the bulkhead in the pictures is black. I know not everything that's black is carbon fiber, of course. Seems to me that a light plastic bushing and a couple of plastic washers could handle that anyway. Aren't we talking about only 12 volts or so?
