This is the official location of the TRF Best Rocket Competition. This is a monthly event to show off your "stuff" and find out who has THE BEST ROCKET OF THE MONTH! When entering, make sure you follow the criteria listed below and you will do fine. From the 21st until the end of the month will be polling to see who should win the Best Rocket Competition. If you so happen to win, PEMBERTON TECHNOLOGIES has offered to supply a free rocketry component or kit!

This months competition is: anything

1. Header of picture must include, name, what kit or was it custom, LPR, MPR or HPR.
2. A BRIEF discription of rocket details. Anything that would make it apparent to somebody that yours is THE BEST.
3. Only ONE entry per month.
4. No extended off topic conversations.
5. Rockets made at any period of time may be used.
6. Can only have a rocket in competition ONE time.
7. If there is a monthly specified type of contest (such as red, white and blue themed), you can only enter rockets that are applicable.
8. Entries will be taken first 3 weeks of month and after the 21st of everymonth the contest closes.
9. The last week of the month will be polling on who should win in each class.
10. Winners get bragging rights for a month!

Good luck to you all... AND HAVE FUN!

Well, might as well get in on it this month!

I present to you my NSL THor-38! It is highly modified, but not too drastic..First off the tubes were glassed using 4oz and 2oz cloth, an additional section was added and an e-bay fashioned to make it dual deploy..Lower section was painted with Duplicolor Metal Cast Red while the upper tube was painted with Duplicolor Mirage Red/Blue kit..Has flown once on a G76G in single deploy mode successfully..Will be flying it dual deploy mode at Freedom Launch over the Labor Day weekend on an H250!:surprised: Here are some links to some pictures and the launch video..Thank you for your time, and please, vote for me! ;)

Here's my rocket of the month. Its a scratch built 4" diameter w/a 29mm MMT. Nothing to jump out and say OOOHHH about except the SUPER SWEET paintjob! Can you guess the rockets name?? Green Lantern, you got it!!

It's got ttw basswood fins, shock cord mounted to the MMT, a custom e-bay for the altimeter, and can fly on g80's and up. Truly screams on H238. My first big build, and my first leap in getting my L1. So it holds a soft spot in my heart.

Ready to launch

I'm in. Here is my Squirrel Works Firebird that I patterned after the Air Force One used in the Kennedy through Reagan years. Most of the decals are from the kit but I made several of them as well. I give you...

This was a fun kit to build and it flies great! I can't wait to get it to a larger field to try bigger motors in it than we can on our local soccer field.

Alright... I have an LPR FlisKits ACME Spitfire with custom skins (FoxTrot, By: Bill Amend). Yes it flies.

Here is my Eeyore (fat boy) rocket. It has been flown but now is retired because I have Vern and Gleda Estes' autograph on it from when we met them at Narcon 2008. It is my first rocket that I made and the first contest I entered. I hope you like my Eeyore rocket! :)

OK, here is my entry. This is the Tube Dude. If you look closely, you will note that it was built from an Estes Phoenix (nose cone and BT-80 body tubes) and an Estes Mean Machine (BT-60 tube fins, plus the mean Machine fins). I picked this rocket because it made me think that this could be something made by Pemberton Tech. I've launched it on D12-3s and E15-4s.

Not a lot of entries so I might as well add another one to the pool. My entry will be my Alien8 from FlisKits. This is one of those rockets that either you build right away and get it finished in one sitting or you end up taking a long time by slowly working on it. I did the latter. This kit was numbered at #26 and I finally finished it last year. Most of the people who saw it during the building process made a comment that the rocket didn’t look like it would ever fly. Well it flew great and I look forward to launching it in the future.

My submission for this month is a rocket called “Bad to the Bone”. This rocket was built as part of the EMRR “Box of Parts” competition. This rocket is unique and my best because it employs 3 different recovery methods. As shown in the picture the top and bottom main body sections recovery under parachutes. The payload carried inside the top section is helicopter. The fact it is carried in the top section took some thought on how to get it deployed during ejection. Check out the details at: https://www.rocketreviews.com/reviews/scratch/bop_king_bad_to_the_bone.shtml Finally, there is a glider at the top of the rocket.

The paint job was inspired by the Estes Cosmic Cobra. My wife still can not believe I painted a rocket Hot Pink.

But, hey if real man can where pink shirts then “real rocket men can fly pink rockets”.:D
