Hi all.

In another thread, there was discussion about a retractable rail.

I'm working on a design, but stopped when I realised I have no idea of the average thickness of the body of a low to medium power rocket.

Is a standard card thickness used?

Cheers,

Dai

Balsa Machining lists dozens of tube dimensions. The smallest ones, Bt5, Bt20, and Bt50, are 0.013" (sorry for the Stoopid Units). Sizes through BT80 are 0.021". Mid power 3" and 4", around 0.040".

I suspect that the size variation is due to the number of layers of paper; two, three, or four layers of 70 lb paper.
