Thanks everyone for the great advice. I ended up getting a mac performance villain and a madcap mini frenzy. I have started on the villain, and am doing a build thread on it. Both of these are traditional dual deployments, with different airframe materials. The villain is also getting a secondary av bay so I can do tracking and scientific instrumentation. Guess I have to brush up on my rusty ham skills and build a little beacon transmitter as well

Both those rocket look like great kits. Did you get the 38 or 54 MMT in the Villian? The Mini Frenzy should be a great rocket with large 29mm motors. Mile high and Mach+. You'll have a lot of fun with those.
