Happy First Contact day. Happy Star Trek. I am referring to the real star trek. The original 5 television series and the 10 films. Any star trek after 2009 is not real trek.

I am not much of a swearing person. I think its inappropriate for the new star trek to have any foul language. I greatly enjoyed "my grandfathers trek"

The Bad Robot gang destroyed the two most profitable Sci-Fi franchises in history, Star Trek and Star Wars. Don't let them anywhere near Battlestar Galactica! It will be my 97th birthday. Hopefully some good Star Trek will have been made by then. Not holding out much hope for Strange New Worlds under the talentless hack Kurtzman and his Bad Robot gang.

OMG, Vulcan logic dictates democratic socialism!I was told recently that the trek mantra of "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few" was socialist dogma.

The script for "Into Darkness" was written by reassigning lines from the original cast movies to other characters:nope youe wrong. The new films by jj abrams were made for just special effects. Give me models on wires and theatrical play trained actors. All this modern stuff is just to sell tickets. The new trek has lost what made trek great. Who cares about the money make a good story with good acting.
A Huge Dr.Who fan here, first started watching on our local PBS channel in the early 80's, been infatuated with it ever since and my collection is almost complete. I liked it because it was based on a whole different premise, not based on a military command structure such as Star Trek. It also had much more humor in the stories, especially with Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker. Not slagging Star Trek, cause I'm a fan too.But I'll always side with the Doctor. I've seen them all, except of course the missing episodes and three of Sylvester McCoy's stories. All I know is I grew up on Dr. Who (and the Daleks) and found Lost In Space while in a hotel in Washington D.C. while my dad debriefed at the Pentagon for a week. Fast forward to waiting in line for hours for the first Star Wars film. It. was. awesome! I scrawled "R2D2 rapes calculators" on my buddies pickup topper and laid him out. Good times! I kinda got lost in all the iterations, spin offs, ripoffs and what not, but it's all just entertainment and a distraction from the real world we all need sometimes. Now, maybe more than ever. I loved Star Trek and the unrealistic premise any society could actually attain that level of civilization. Like magic, you have to suspend reality to buy into that vision of the future. It's comforting and hopeful. You do you and find the mind candy that tickles your imagination. I just try to keep an open mind, since I can't see, hear, feel, touch everything out there. Suggestions are welcome, opinions are optional.
The script for "Into Darkness" was written by reassigning lines from the original cast movies to other characters:
Star Trek: The Motion Picture: Kirk to Scotty, "They gave her back to me."
Star Trek Into Darkness: Pike to Kirk, "They gave her back to me."
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan: Kirk screams, "Khaaaaannn!"
Star Trek Into Darkness: Spock screams, "Khaaaaannn!"
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion of course, but the JJ Abrams stuff lost me when they started breaking canon. Enterprise being built on the ground? Uhhh... No. And it went downhill from there. Communicators that communicated across star systems? Not in Kirk's day. Enterprise doing duty as a submarine? Just... No.Are you out of your mind? The last 3 movies are hands down the best Trek ever produced, and the cast....spot on!!!!!!
