Cool -- thanks for sharing.

As long as you cant the booster enough it should work in a scale model like this... Not sure about best way to attach and eject...
Short delay, ejection charge blows booster off Starfighter, slip fit of some sort plays chute out from Starfighter and then slips free to inflate?

Timing ignition of both booster and Starfighter motors would be a fun and tricky enterprise.

Finally finished my BT-80/2.6" F-104 - as folks can see from Frank's and Ken's posts...

Designed to launch on either 29mm or 24mm engines. I personally built the NASA Booster version but I also created parts a standard and extended tail versions with fuel pods or AIM-9 missiles for wingtips. I had 2oz in nose but think I could go lighter - Maybe 1oz with D12 or composite might have a bit more oomph.

I launched low and slow on a E12 and C5 in Booster (glad to see it was rock-solid stable even in a good 10 or so MPH wind) -

For the longest time I was lamenting my lack of a good quality large volume 3D printer so I could do a single-piece nosecone. However, realized that I could incorporate a modular weight mounting feature in the nosecone since it was multiple parts. Always a fun challenge to design a new model even though I already had the BT-60 version.

Anyway, here are some of my own pics. Orange Big Bertha for size comparison in one picture.

Scott H. shared pics of his build of the BT-60 F-104 over on FB.. Looks amazing and great to see yet another incredible paint scheme for this model... When I see these builds I need to do a double-take since I assume its a picture of the real thing from one of the aviation groups that also come up in my feed.
