I wore thick glasses since 3rd grade. Had the cataract lens replacement procedure several years ago and have been 20/15 vision ever since. Amazing.

An interesting side effect that I saw immediately was that blue and violet colors are now much more vivid. You don't notice it, but as you age you natural lenses get more yellow, filtering out some of the short wavelength blue and violet light.

I am colored blind so I will never get this effect. But it is clear that i too have been missing things.
