Are the fins made of balsa?
The scans on JimZ's website look like fiberboard.

The original did used fiberboard fins - looking at the pictures and instructions if I were doing a clone I’d use balsa at least as thick as the tube segments for the ring fins if not a bit thicker - probably 3/32” balsa?

I made mine from 2-3 layers of laminated posterboard.
