Estes parachute color codes?

Hey, quick question, then I ll delete the thread, I have yellow, red, purple and orange estes chutes. Are they different sizes, and if so what are the sizes?

as far as I can remeber

Orange and Blue is 24"

Red and Black is 18"

Yellow and Black is 12"

I dont remember purple...

i've had 12'' orange and blue chutes

i dont think the chutes color has to do with it ssize. Ive had two different colored 12" chutes and 2 different colored 24" chutes.

For the chutes prior to ~2004 or 5:

Light orange and white was 12", purple and white was 18", and darker orange and white was 24".

I think the new yellow and black chutes are 12" and the red and black are 18".

Depends how far back you go - way back when you had your choice of colors - from the 1968 catalog

I meant those colors are from what I have in stock right now

They are all over the place. I've had red and white 12 inch, red and white 18 inch. Red and white 24 inch. Purple and white 18 inch etc etc.

I thought at one point there was a reasoning to the coloring but that doesn't seem to be the case.

With that said, I have never seen an orange and white other than 12 inch or a purple and white that wasn't an 18 inch so there is some reasoning.
