Hi folks,
For the past few months I've been dealing with my Mom's cancer and eventual passing away, so rocketry has not been a big focus. To bootstrap myself back into building, I built a set of Icarus clones. This gave me the energy to start the more interesting S.S. Cassiopeia build documented elsewhere. I was pretty lazy about actually finishing the Icarus clones, but finally clear coated them this weekend.
Not worthy of a build thread, as these all use pretty standard techniques, but here they are. All decals are waterslide from the awesome Sandman of Excelsior.
1. A regular scale Icarus, BT50-based, with Createx Auto Air White paint and Wicket Black for the nose.

2. A downscale to Series 7 tubing (close to BT20, but thicker walled), as a minimum diameter for 18mm engines or with adaptor, 13 mm engines. I love how the red decals and nose really bring out the best in the yellow paint (Wicked detail yellow over the Auto Air white):

3. Also an upscale to BT56 tubing (meant to do it BT55, but grabbed the wrong body tube... oops). Clear section and nose cone are BT55. This had the same pain scheme as #1 except the body and nose got a shot of Createx hot rod sparkle over the white / black paints. You can really see the sparkle in the second pic:

And of course a family picture:

All models were clear coated with Valspar high gloss clear lacquer. It works great when the weather is cold. Really flows out well.
