Hi all,
I have recently build an Eggfinder mini, rx and a Eggtimer Quantum. The Eggtimer Mini and Rx work like a charm but I can't seem to get the eggtimer Quantum to work at all. No beeps or anything. I'm somewhat new to soldering small componentry but all of the joints look good to me. Hoping to get someone a bit smarter than me to have a look at it so I came here. Thanks all, I really appreciate the help let me know if any more pictures are needed to diagnose the problem.

Which Rev of the Quantum is this? B1?
I'm certainly no expert at soldering, but I've assembled seven Quantums (plus a number of other Eggtimer products). Some of the solder joints appear to be a little heavy so it makes me wonder if you may have cooked a component. What temp are you soldering at?
Cris Erving is awesome. Send him an email and he'll shoot you some suggestions.

That is normal. That's the input/output side of the drivers, the two middle pins are outputs and the two outer pins are inputs.

Did you try connecting the USB-Serial data cable per the procedure for recovering the passkey? The diagnostics should tell you where it's stopping at.

To answer Kane's question, I was soldering around 450-500f.
Analog, there is a gap between the wifi module and the pub. Not sure how familiar you are with this version of the Quantum but there are pins that you solder in.
Andrew I tried to connect to wifi but nothing comes up.
Chris I plugged the serial cable in and this all I got from putty was weird dots see attached picture. Thanks you all for the help I really appreciate you guys.

Was that at 115,200 baud/8 bits/no parity/1 stop bit? If you short the RX and TX pins on the cable, does it echo when you type in Putty?

this happened to us last week. It ended up being a bad solder joint as well as one of the dang chips in the wrong orientation.

My bad I accidentally typed in the baud wrong. See attached picture. And when I short the Rx and Tx pins it does echo.(if by echo you mean the computer makes a noise)

I tried it again today and got the same thing. Not sure what it means. Also when I attach the battery to the altimeter the computer makes a ding. Not sure if that helps.
