The new packaging will be more store friendly along with possobly cheaper for them. The last few years a number of hobby shops (mine included) would get motors where the plastic blister detached from the cardboard backing. Then had to break out the scotch tape

Estes has a new advertisement in Sport Rocketry, and it seems that engine packaging has changed.

We're starting to receive this new packaging in our orders as well. I'm actually looking forward to it as it takes up less space than the old cardboard header card back with a plastic clamshell on the front.
