Being an old Windoze coder... this often happens, in my experience, when you are using a larger or custom default system / dialog font and the code is not written to check. Or the code has hard coded units that worked for the old default font but not the new windows 8 one. Generally the layout should be done in dialog units if not a quick calculation at display time. Or at least float the right side of the group rectangle (which is probably a group box as you can say it clipping both left and right). But as you say it is innocuous.
