Android. My first phone was a Samsung smartphone, and my current one is a Samsung GS4. Personally, I don't think I'll ever use an iPhone

Droid X2 for another couple of weeks; at least until my Nexus 6 gets here.

I have a "smarter-than-me" Samsung GS3. It has symbols on it that I have no idea what they are about. It didn't come with a set of instructions. I was told to get it off the web-site, but it never worked in 3 months.

This does not necessarily answer that question. This really answer which group is more likely to answer the poll.

I voted NO Smartphone, though I have a kinda of smart phone. But can't afford the extra features.
Crap, I probably would be lost on one anyways. A phone is a phone, email is email, etc etc.
Wife has one. Hardly touches her laptop anymore. I'd be lost without mine.
I can't see anythin on that little screen with my old failing eyes.
I need new glasses!!!

Dumb Phone. Easy to replace when destroyed for one reason or another. I have fumble fingers. Got extras here n there from family member upgrades. When those run out....?

I buy burner phones when I go out of town. Don't really have a need for a smart phone. Can't get faxes on them. I have to rely on a land line. My calls don't get dropped like so many of my clients do on their little portable "know it all" pocket computer phones. ( pats self on the back for not getting sucked into the tech )

For me size mater. I can't use a small phone, I got at the time the Galaxy Note II, then before Xmas, I give a try to a friend Iphone6 Plus ( about same size as a Note), but I finally order a Note 4. I really like my experience with the 6+ , but way to much of my android apps are not available. But I do purchase an Ipad Mini 3 cellular and I carry it with me all the time in my briefcase, this is my favorite to browse the web and access my huge collection of computer technical book on Kindle ( it work very well on IOS and crash all the time on Windows and android)

Iphone 4. I hate the larger phones it's like were going back to the 80's. They are like tablets rather the phones I will stick with my nice small iphone 4 maybe an iphone 5 as they aernt that large. Apple all the way however because they are easy to fix.

Had a Motorola Razr for six years and upgraded to an iPhone 4 when the 5 came out.
Thinking of looking into a 4S for some more connect-ability.
I like to carry it in my shirt pocket so iPhone 5 would be about as big as I could go.

And this doesn't have the latest equipment shown:

Android only, since my first Galaxy Nexus. Currently rocking the Galaxy Note 3. Area66,I would like comments on the Note 4 when you get yours. I must admit I like my phablet.

I just upgraded to iphone 5S for me and my boy (Verizon). iphone was actually cheaper than the last flip phone dumb phone I had... However the monthly service will be more now. We'll see how it plays out. So far I like the phone. If I could vote twice I would because I have a work supplied Android phone (Samsung Galaxy Rugby Pro). However the service is ATT which is horrible. The phone is barely 2 years old and is glitchy as heck. Thinking of trying a master reset to see if I can make it work better. The battery barely makes an 8hr work day anymore, even with a new replacement battery. I wonder if some app is draining it. Seems like you can't actually fully delete an old app, thus the master reset thought.
I haven't loaded too many apps on the iphone, cause I'm cheap. Too cheap even for the free ones :eyeroll:

True enough, but it might correlate with people who are anxious to make more use of their smart phone, for example with rocketry apps. :)

I made it a multiple-choice poll for that reason.

iPhone 5 running ios 7.1.2. Likely to update to latest ios shortly- waiting until the latest had a little time to shake out the bugs.

Just went from iPhone 5 to a maxed out 6 Plus yesterday. It is taking some getting used to.

Altimeter Three graphs look really good on it. (I have a beta A3).

I've owned an iPhone3 and several Androids since the iPhone. I wont't willingly go back to a iPhone, I dislike the heavy handed tactics they use with app developers, while they make a good quality phone (I still use my iPhone3 as an alarm clock), the PC interface software iTunes is crappy and not user friendly.

iPhone 4 as much by accident as design. Our daughter wanted a smartphone and was paying to upgrade the family plan, so the cost to upgrade to a smartphone was about $5 per person. Our company got bought out so we had to change plans anyway. Went shopping (and researching) on the net and by the time I decided on Samsumg, my wife had already ordered new phones on eBay. They are such a big step up from where we were, it's interesteing but hard to compare. Mostly I still just text and play a couple games, but having a map in my hand when I'm looking for someplace new is pretty nice.
