Does someone make a Rocket Simming Program that I can Buy on Disc, instead of having to download???
My Computer won't let me download anything at all. Before you all try to help me get my Computer fixed, I've already "Been there, done that", so save your breath.
I simply wish to buy a Disc to load into my Computer.

Not that I know of, Rocksim and OpenRocket are both download only. If you want you can buy a copy of Rocksim and I will download it and burn it to a disc for you and mail it to an address, just PM me.

Thanks. It's expensive, but given my desire to Kitbash and Scratch Build, it looks like I'm gonna' have to take the Plunge. I will watch some more of the Tutorial Videos on how to use it until I can afford it.

You don't NEED rocksim to scratch build. People scratch built rockets way before rocksim was invented. Admittedly it does make it easier but it isn't necessary. If cost is a concern, openrocket will be your friend but it does require you to figure stuff out on your own. Go to staples and see if you can download it to one of their computers and copy it to a newly-purchased USB drive or have the computer "show off" its disc-burning capacity.

As an IT person, I can say that whatever is causing your computer to "not download" things CAN be corrected. After all, it is only software. In this day and age the only thing people say is "reboot and if that doesn't work, reload" which is annoying since most of the time you just need to do some forensics. However, your computer, your inconvenience. If you choose to live with it so be it.

And then you have to register it on the internet to get the full version anyway. I got caught out exactly this way - bought the CD in the hope of not needing to do anything with the internet, found that all I had was a demo version, and had to register it in order to download the licence files to get it to work properly.

A better bet might be to copy Open Rocket onto a CD. That's free and requires no registration.

A computer that "can't download" is more likely having installation issues.

Open Rocket on CD won't help, either, as you first have to download and install Java.

I was thinking more like malware issues, but that is just me.
Or the PC onto which he wants to install the software physically has no connection to the internet. That was why I wanted a CD. If Apogee's website had made it clear that you still only got the demo version until you had registered by internet, I'd have saved the money.

Apogee has always given me superb customer service. Call them, I bet you could get some sort of work around!

I've got Internet Access on this Computer and all. I thought it was the Firewalls that were messing up Downloads, so I turned them off and tried again, but recieved the same Failure to download message.:

I guess I'll dig into this again. Stupid Computers!!!

Yeah, I know, as I have made plenty of Scratch Builds in my Past, to include one that rode just fine on G80 Motors back in 2000. the thing is though, everyone on here has the Sim Programs, and they look like so much fun. Also, if I had a Sim Program, when someone accused me of screwing up a Kit that I like to "Bash", "Overbuild", or whatever, I could just show them the Sim File, and why it would infact be stable.
Without the Software, all I'll be able to do to say, "In your Face!" will be to film a successful Launch. If I have a failed Launch, I'll be the Dummy, and will have to concede that I should have used Sims in the first place.
Back in the day, I would simply apply the Basic Principles from Chapters 9 and 10 in the "Handbook of Model Rocketry", and I never had one go "Cruise Missile" or "Land Shark". Folks have been building stable Rockets long before these Sim Programs were around, but it would be nice to have every Tool available at my disposal.
I'm going to find someone to come to my House and get my Computer fixed.

I think that's an excellent choice! After all, it's not just rocket software and info you'd like to download and store...

My Open Rocket How-To is a bit dated now, but short and to the point: https://comp.uark.edu/~jpummil/OR-Start.pdf

7zipfile.exe is a file compression program that has nothing to do with the internet. If you download a .zip file and do not have a file decompression program you will have a problem installing a program, but windows does have a standard file decompression program.

What computer do you have and what is the operating system? Has the operating system been updated regularly?

Have you ran disk cleanup to eliminate temporary internet files and extra stuff you don't need?

Your browser shouldn't matter, but have you altered the security settings so they don't let you download anything?

Do you and have you always had an antivirus program installed on the program and is it frequently updated and run weekly?

Do you have an antimalware program installed and is it frequently updated and run weekly?

I have an "E-Machines" Computer, purchased at Best Buy about 4 Years ago. It's running Windows Vista, and for Anti Everything I'm running AVG 2013, which automatically updates, typically I notice it about once every couple of days, but if I'm not at my Computer, it just goes ahead and updates anyway. I've only been experiencing the issues with downloading things for about 3 Months.

I just temporarily disabled AVG, and tried again, but once again, could not download, so I re-enabled AVG. Come to think of it, I've only been having this Problem since I Renewed my AVG...Hmmm...

it's means delete the partition on the hard drive and re install Windows ( of course backup your stuff before ) , use Microsoft Security Essential instead of AVG. AVG is a pain in the caboose for blocking download and install.

By the way, Java can be install without internet , you just put the offline version ( 32 or 64) you need on a USB stick

Thanks Area66. Atleast now I have Java. Your suggestion of using the Memory Stick and doing the Offline DL worked.
