Where can I purchase Mylar. I have several rockets that need to have streamers made for them and if I could just purchase some Mylar on a roll that would be perfect .18mm-24mm-29mm-38mm minimum diameter rockets.jpg

Go to a party store and by the Mylar party streamers. They normally are 5" by 5' and about a buck.

No- more like 1 mil. Much more flappy than 2 mil streamers I've ordered from rocketry suppliers. Holds a crease well without having to bake them, too.

+1 for kj's recommendation, what you would be looking for are the Happy Birthday Banners. They are thicker than space blankets and better for streamers, IMO.

I bought a "rescue blanket" in the camping section at walmart. I will highly suggest using a hot knife i.e. soldering iron to cut it. If you use a scissors be very careful, any nick in the edge is a tear point where it can fail easily. If you melt it apart with the hot cutter, it won't have any edge defaults.

Go to Lowe's and get you a roll of the unprinted Barricade Tape or safety tape. It's 1"- 3" wide about 100 miles long ( jk ) and it's very much the same or about the same stuff Estes uses in it's kits. Can't remember paying more that 5-6 bucks for it and you'll prolly never use it all up in a life time.

I just ordered this yesterday to make streamers for the 29mm minimum diameter that I'm building. Cheap, and free shipping too.
