this baby is too beautifull .. send it to a museum for modern art! best advertisement for the hobby! I was thinkin of buying it anyway, now I am convinced.

Would be interested to get the weight specs of the built?

thx

That is one awesome job on that rocket. My finishing fails in comparison. Very crisp fillets.

I know this thread is almost a year old, but wow that is beautiful! I love those fillets!

How did you get the DX3 wrap on your rocket? I have the same rocket and decals, that will be the biggest decal the I will have put on, and advice would be appreciated.

I just applied decals using the method Sticker Shock recommends. I taped the tubes together where they joined prior to starting, and avoided taping the decal areas. This keeps the separate tubes from shifting during application. Before removing the sticker backing, test fit onto the BT. Once in place I taped the leading edge side of the decal to the BT and test wrapped one more time to ensure nothing shifted. When satisfied all is spot on, keep the leading edge taped to BT and flip the decal out and open so you're looking at the back side. With the leading edge of the decal still taped to the BT, start to peel off the side under layer of the decal on the side where the tape is keeping it on the BT. Spay water/soap solution on the BT and start laying down a few inches at a time moving sideways across the BT. Squeegee out as much water and air bubbles as possible before applying a few more inches. Repeat process until you are almost all the way around. Cut away excess under layer the has already been removed from decal if you like. This makes it much easier to handle as it starts to get in the way. As you get close to completing the wrap remove the leading edge tape and finish laying down the decal. Be sure to spray before applying more decal to surface each time and work out all the air and water. doing a few inches at a time will help control the whole process nicely. Any overlap or uneven seems can be fixed at the end using a razor blade to even it up and pulling off the excess for crisp clean edges.

When done laying decal down cut the decals at the BT joints and removed tape that was holding BT together. I generally apply clear coat on top of paint and decals once both are completely dry to help keep the decals from coming off. I find this type of decal much more pleasant to work with as you can adjust it a little after applying due to the water and soap underneath.

There may be other ways that work just as well but that is how I do it. It is a lot easier to do then it is to try and type out and explain. Hope this didn't just confuse and frustrate you.
