woof, heres hoping the weather will hold out for sunday....looks like its supposed to rain but its the only day ill be able to make it early enough to fly :(

It's definitely looking like Friday and Saturday are the days. I am looking to get the bulk of my flights up on those days, and anything on Sunday will be gravy.

Just got stuff in the mail so I know what I'm going to fly now:

1st priority will be flying "I forget the name of the rocket." I built it something like 6 years ago and forgot what I called it, so it's got a new name now. It's 7.5" diameter, 90" tall and probably weighs around 50lbs. The plan is to fly it on an L730 on Saturday and maybe airstart a few pairs 38mm 1 or 2 grain motors. Sunday I'm thinking of groundstarting 2x J580SSs, 2x I255RLs & 2x H120RLs, airstarting a K454SK or similar then finally a pair of G58's, all CTI. Airstarts via a Raven that will check altitude, velocity and time before the ignition.

I also just bought one of these: https://www.interactivetoy.com/IATC1011/home/images/skidooMXZ_450x199.gif We'll see if I get a chance to stick a motor and parachute on it.

Increasingly looks like the best days will be in chronological order, Friday, then Saturday, and finally Sunday. The forecast for Sunday seems to be getting better though.

I hear there is a last minute drag race being planned by Rick Comshaw. Airframes will be delivered

Rick has a whole bunch of N5800 available for this event.

Crazy Jim even plans to be elsewhere when Neil pushes the button.

I'm jealous - you folks are going to havee a ball and my work just pulled the rug out from under me. I have to work Fri and be back NLT 7AM on Monday. Given the iffy Sunday the 5 hour drive is not worth it.

If anyone needs to take their Tripoli Level 2 written test. I will be staying in the Days Inn on Friday and Saturday night. Just send me email if you want too and we can arrange around our schedules.

Also if any of the rocketry forum folks would like to have dinner Friday night I be up for that.

Cheers
John ..

Got some good news and some bad news. The bad news is with Black Friday gumming up the manufacturing process I won't have a Dominator 3 to donate as a raffle prize.

The good news? I'll have a DOMINATOR 4!!! instead. So be sure to buy plenty of raffle tickets as the D4 is one hell of a prize.

The weather seems to be getting better as the days click off.
I'm kind of concerned with the forecast for Sunday so, I moved up my reservations to include Fri night.
I hope to put up at least 4 rockets...weather permitting of course.

Getting close now!! With the Ultimate Wildman still MIA, I'll be keeping it small this year. I finally finished the Vindicator I got in last year's Black Saturday sale, and I'll be flying that on a K or two. First flight will be on a K1100T. Should do about 5,000' or so.

Other than that, I look forward to just having a good time and seeing some sweet flights!

Ditto! I was trying hard to pull together an O project but ran into some nozzle issues at the last minute. So, time to switch out and stick small; only got a 2550 loaded in the Comp for a quick flight.

I will also be TAPping a few L3s, plus Darren and I will be on site with chems for those in need.

See you all there!

For those that built Jarts - I don't have a load to test the balance with - how much nose weight did you add (stock build, with the 3 grain CTI motor, not the 6xl) ?

On another note - got my motors made for other planned flights. Ready to go... (98's and 54's - 3 motors: (2) M1800, (1) L1300, all white)

Aww, now. You aren't setting me up for one of Neil's favorite flights are you? You know, the "really cool" ones?

Wether was SUPER! Cold, but super. Many of the early flights came right back and landed near the pads. There were 3 CATOs and 5 (yes FIVE) core samples just today, however. The Away Cell was steady all day too. Get there early on Saturday- many spectators are expected and parking may be a bit tight. Weather is expected to remain good for Sat. and it looks as if Sunday may hold as well.

BTW- Dr. Zooch Rockets will NOT be taking credit cards- but I will take your check. I'd rather deal with rocketeers and their checks that the stinking creeps who do the credit card services. At least rocket people are human and not blood-sucking, money-grubbing %#&*!!ers

I had my successful L3 flight today! Flew my Competitor 5 on a CTI 7521-M840. Raven reported 13,841', Adept 22 reported 13,852. Max velocity of 807 mph with a max acceleration of 14.35 gees. Recovery was pretty far away, but it wasn't too bad.

HUGE thank you to Nick DeBrita, Fred Wallace, Dave Reese, and Bob Utley.

Flying my Nike Smoke first thing in the morning. Hoping for success with my first attempt at airstarts.
