Hi Guys,
Don't post much but I saw this thread and it got my attention. Yes, they existed but were mainly for research beyond
80K AGL ... mainly you will see Ajax or Apache configurations, but a Nike-Nike is the Booster with the ISC you find on Apache and another booster stacked on top with the conical nose-cone. As it turns out most of the information on this
is buried in the "Standard Nike Fins" document from Atlantic Research (they made components).
I found this on NTRS and have a copy, if you're interested please contact me off-forum (no way to attach PDF).
You can find most of the common info on the Nike Smoke from the NTRS Site (
https://ntrs.nasa.gov/ - search for "Development of a Smoke Trail Vehicle " - NASA Technical note D 2009
Finally, here's the 1/4 scale version I did a couple years ago (K2045->K2045).

NOTE: These are two Performance rocketry 1/4 scale kits with an ISC.
I also had a failed 1/3 scale at DairyAire that year (with a beautiful machined transition made by James Marino)
and plan to fly again this year in October at October Skies.
If you want more details, contact me via email offline.

PS, every year we have a mass launch of 1/4 scale Nike Smokes, you can find the details on our website.
