I am consiering buying my son a rework station with a hot air gun? Which do you use and suggest?
Thanks. I would prefer hands on experience from our users. This one gets rave reviews:

Thanks.Don't have a specific recommendation, but look for one that you can control not only the temp, but the airflow.
The one I have is ancient and has been OOP for many years.
Also, you want a selection of "heads" that focus and shape the airflow.
The focused air is more important for rework, especially if you want to tackle removing bigger IC's.

I have this one. Look on the site, you may just the rework station without the soldering station forv125v
https://www.sra-solder.com/solderin...tal-hot-air-rework-and-soldering-station-220v
Search the site, there are cheaper options (rework only for about $85). And of course look for 110v not 220v like the one I linked. I have used mine (earlier model) for over 10 years now with no issues. (But thankfully I don't rework alot).Thanks. That looks promising.
It looks similar to the AoyueI've had this unit for about three years, have built a bunch of EggTimer boards with it. Have used the rework station several time on other boards with no issue. Overall I am very happy with the combo. Got it on sale for less than a hundred bucks on a Amazon sale price, the current price is more: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RY5XWVG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I have an Aoyue. I like it. Works well for what I need it for.It looks similar to the Aoyue
