What will you do OTHER than watch the Super Bowl...

I haven't decided yet. If I don't I'll be, hopefully, painting rockets and trying to decide what to build next. If I do I'll go to the Casino and make some bets. That always makes it more interesting. The Super Bowl is one of the biggest betting days if not the biggest. Here in Vegas and other legal places and the not so legal places. When I was at the Mirage this would be when all the Whales would be in town. The Casinos can either win big or loose big. For MGM/Mirage guests when I was there they would start the day with golf at Shadow Creek, that's who I worked for. They were ranked #3 in the US when I started in 2000. Still in the top ten IIRC. The Whales get a lot of gifts and have private viewing rooms. So the Casinos take depends on not just The Game but all the Millions the Whales bet on other stuff. Lots of Billionaires in town. Lots of money in this town.

I live in the congested Northeast. So my plan for tonight is: while everyone is inside their houses watching the Stupidbowl, I'm going for a drive..... on hopefully, EMPTY roads. One year I flew back into NYC on New Year's Eve. It was 11:30pm when I hit the road. I got from JFK to the Throgs Neck Bridge in 30 minutes at 90mph. I was home in Belleville just 30 minutes later. A total of 1 hour to drive from JFK to Belleville, which is normally a 2-hr drive.

No plan, but maybe, just maybe, I'll finally cut the reusable parts off my 2.6" Standard Missile that lawn darted about 2 years ago....
Or maybe just be a bum. Have never had any interest in sports.

There's a program on TV this afternoon that might be worth watching. Something about nature's best nocturnal raptors. The Superb Owl, I think it's called. ;)
🤣
Spotted, barred, great grey. All owls are superb owls!

Seriously, about to go launching rockets with the TARC team.

My son works for a small shipyard. They get the day after the Super Bowl off. A few years ago was the last time they worked that Monday. Half of the workforce called in sick, the other half was badly hung over, and the boss looked around and called off work for the day. One of the benefits of working for a small business!

Let’s see…🤫

Right now I’m doing some of my world famous Rainbow Tie Dye shirts for some good Rocketry friends in Wisconsin.

Next up will be to get my Taxes done online (got to square up with Uncle Sam)! 😑

Followed by a rewatching of my new Licorice Pizza Blu Ray…Kind of reminds me of growing up in Southern Wisconsin in the early 70’s with ALOT less Palm Trees and Stucco buildings…😊

Cook up a Pizza with EXTRA Cheese on top, a hold over from growing up in previously mentioned Vis-Con-Sin. 🍕

Topped off by copious amounts of Whoopie with a Redheaded member of the opposite sex- 🤨

Overall, a pretty good day. Then off to bed and back to work tomorrow. Those Semi Trucks filled full of freight don’t move themselves!

Oh SHUCKS! 😳 I’ve been hiding under a rock- Maybe whip up another Madcow Bomarc and fly it on a “J” Motor?

It took a small “H” motor to finally kill that Critter over a farm field here in Indiana…

Got some work to do-😑

What size you wearing now JD? I’m sure I could whip up something between now and then that has a lot of green and yellow in it.

See, I had every good plan of watching our American Gladiators, the finest of the finest, in their epic clash of the ages - the Titans against the Gods, the unstoppable powers meeting the immovable objects, champions of incalculable bravery and raw animal strength doing their finest.

But I slept in and missed the pre-pre-pre-game preview with the interviews of the sister of the nephew of the brother-in-law of the waterboy who knew him when he was 3. I just feel like the continuity would be lost, I can't do it now...
Tributes to you guys who had tears in my eyes from laughter at some of your "rathers". :bravo:

Yo Adrian- Give me a Shirt size and I’ll see what I can whip up for you in the future. I have plenty of Green/Yellow. I’ll order some stuffage from Madcow later to prepare to hit the Bong…

Better half just got home, Pizza prepared to sacrifice. She hates cheese like I love it. You can never “Over Cheese”. 4990A781-FAD3-4DA1-B27C-EE8A0DEA9301.jpeg

Darn Doctors got me on some type of “Zole” and some type of “Statin” along with Hippopotamus Laxative. A direct result of my great love for all Dairy products…😖

I really don't like football. I don't like playing it and I especially don't like watching it on TV. In fact, I'd rather do a set of burpees while sipping on mag citrate .
I kinda agree with you; I have much better ways to spend my time. But an odd thing about me, were I to be roped into going to watch it, I'd watch it with intensity. They say my grandmother was like that; before the days of TV, she'd be the last one out of the stands if it rained; if the players were on the field, she's watching. My dad was the same way. Odd.

But my time in high school, my time working out with the team at Pitt (Tony Dorsett & a couple of other future NFL players were classmates in high school), my time in a steel mill watching guys gambling away their livings and of course "Monday morning quarterbacking" (not a one of them would last 20 seconds down on that field), and just the whole trajectory the NFL took over my lifetime, I'm like, no. Not interested. My buddy was really into it, hence working out with the team at Pitt, and I'm like, no, I'm not letting those behemoths run into me, not interested.

Rick Reilly put it hilariously into perspective in a Sports Illustrated article from 1999. And of course he's talking about taking a ride in and F-14 and SI currently has an F-18 at the top of the page... The rocketry tie-in was that his pilot was the son of Jack King, who did so many countdowns for NASA. And I agree. "Cool" is flying a tiny craft 240,000 miles from home down to the moon and having a stroll. Entertaining athletic ability is ok, but it's nothing remotely close to that kind of cool.

Smoking ribs... for the Super Bowl party. My wife might be watching the Puppy Bowl, though...

Bomarc? We don't need no stinkin' bomarc. What ever happened to this beauty?11AF3937-ADEB-4116-862E-8A5DBF1BAE52.jpeg
Still propping up the corner of one of my bedrooms- along with the Hawk Mtn. Super Beast (FIRST Rocket to EVER fly the CTI N-10,000 and burn HALF of Indiana to the ground…)😳 along with the Scooter and Red Dawg Two Stager! 👍

Darn girlfriend helped me do my taxes, ate my Pizza and left me sitting alone on the couch…😖 I’ve lost my Mojo.
