The Indy 500 is also happening up there too.
Race weekend is always a mess in Indy. It is best to avoid the area if you can. The TFR for the speedway gets close to 2 hospitals, but we can always fly through with a few radio calls.

We have wildfire smoke blowing down to Indiana from some fires in Michigan and Ontario. The smoke pushed down from the upper atmosphere causing enough haze to lower our visibility flying. We couldn't smell the smoke yet though. We could use some rain soon.

Giant lightning storms can be so cool when they are not on top of you. I was around sisters Oregon in that sagebrush desert doing some target shooting with friends, and that night a huge storm was blowing through. It was several miles away, and there were a whole bunch of gigantic lightning strikes. It was really cool to witness. Also did you know that Apollo 12 was struck by lightning twice? No damage was done, though, because it was while the rocket was in the air, not grounded.
