I got a pair of short conical PNC-20 nose cones in the Estes Designer's kit--perfect for SRBs. Here is a tube fin rocket that uses them.

I decided to duct the ejection charge into the SRBs--I plan to
hold the parachutes in place for nose cone ejection with some centering rings just above the ports.

A Rocsim simulation indicates that some nose weight is needed for C engines.

I plan to put nozzles on the SRBs.

Nice looking rocket. 8)

Sorta reminds me a bit of the Delta 4 Light. I like the idea of the tube-fins on it. If you get the Rocksim file done, please consider making it available.

Cheers and please let us know how it turns out. 8)

First off, very cool design

Secondly, check with teflonrocketry1 and/or his document on the Apogee Rockets website about simulating tube fins with RockSim. I think you'll see that you're probably not as unstable as you think. And if you are, some little fins mounted between the tubes would look pretty slick... Heck you might even want to play with adding some anyway!
