Long and sharp--WATCH OUT!

Worse imagine the landing. Normally I "just size" my parachute. Likely I'll err on the large side in this case.

Glass an LPR kit? Normally I would think that crazy, but in this case, hmmm....

BTW, kit bought ages ago. Rocketpad Nightwing, I think (don't really know--I tend to throw instructions away ;)).

Well, I decided to go ahead and glass these fins with some scrap 6oz. I had left over from last HPR build.

Single layer tip-to-tip.

Last section complete.

Now, I'll sleep better at night...

Now with the glass, if you fall on it, it should penetrate deeper and not get stuck on and of those "chewy" organs

Was doing some finishing/painting in my workshop for two bigger rockets and thought I would go ahead and get this one completed also. I believe the traditional color for the Nightwing is all black. But in my case I'm trying to use up my old Krylon stash on smaller rockets (so I know I have enough to complete the paint job without running out and getting more) so this one is "Midnight Blue." Still needs final sanding and the clear coat, but you get the idea...

Hmm... Well actually the flash makes the blue look much lighter--it is really "Midnight" blue, i.e., dark blue, kinda verging on black from a distance.
