Hello all,

My team is participating in the NASA SL program and in order to comply with the rules of the competition, we need to set a specific frequency/callsign on the Telemetrum v2.0 GPS tracking system. However, none of us know exactly how to do so since it is our first time using the Telemetrum (We are more familiar with the Big Red Bee GPS system) and we didn't see much specifics on the topic in any manuals or forums.

I have downloaded the appropriate software and plugged in the Telemetrum. What kind of values can go in the Callsign field and how would it affect the transmitting frequency of the GPS system?

Thank you in advance,

Whatever you put in for Call sign will have no effect on on the transmission of the Telemetrum. This entry is for entering you HAM license call sign which makes it easier to identify your rocket when there are multiple Telemetrum units being used at same time.

...and is a requirement for using Amateur Radio frequencies as the Altus Metrum units do. You should enter the call sign of the licensed Ham who is taking responsibility for the transmissions from your Telemetrum (and who should be present when and where it is used).

Maybe you want to have your Ham do this... he's the one responsible for the transmissions. He technically needs to be present, even for testing.

QSL, Find a licensed Amateur Radio Operator for that information.

Also, it's for more than just "making it easier to identify." It's a legal requirement when transmitting on those frequencies.
