Impressive system succinctly explained. I've read a lot about Apollo hardware including the Saturn V and had somehow never known this. Thank you for posting! (And thank you @lakeroadster for the YT link.)

Thanks for posting.
I've used INS systems for decades, and at 1st I was missing the need for the update beam.
Then I realized the SV needs to know where it is in space, not on earth.
Very clever and elegant engineering.

Well, there's one more "Holy Smokes, did these guys know what they were doing or what?!?!" moment. Then allowing for a 30 cm sway! Amazing!
