Here is a complete newbie question - is it best practice to prime the plastic parts of rockets?

I understand priming the cardboard and wooden parts of a kit, but does priming the plastic parts help the paint sit better on such smooth surfaces?

Thank you!

Paint often doesn't stick well to molded parts. Generally you should wash the parts with warm soapy water first and you may have better luck with a product like Plastic Prep.

Some people like sanding the plastic first and some don't. At any rate, do not use a coarse grit of sandpaper because you'll raise "fuzzies" that need to be sanded down.

Priming before painting is always recommended.
