While I live less than 1 Km from the beach, on the East coast of China, I've got the entire Korean Peninsula between me and the West coast of Japan. I didn't feel the earthquake, nor hear any sirens (I'm w/in audio range of them (I've heard them test the system before)).

Prayers for all those who are impacted by this.

I fell asleep with the BBC playing on headphones and woke up to a story about this. I immediately had flashbacks to 2011. This one sounds bad enough, but thankfully not as bad as the Fukushima tsunami.
 
Earth's land masses move toward and away from each other at an average rate of about 1.5 centimeters (0.6 inches) a year. That's about the rate that human toenails grow! It will never stop.
