Short rod. A long rail could've prevented that one and then it would've just done some hopping before boosting (up).

It was about 1991ish a bouncing landshark hit near the office door of the Super 8 at Danville , IL. [or it may have been the comfort inn, getting old]

I may have been the same year as the Long Burn motor lighting in another hotel on near the field because of a continuity check. [I saw that happen from another parking lot, they were very near the field] If it was not the same year it was the next one. I think that was the last year that Danville Dare was flying in the field right next to the hotels.

I heard Rocket R&D talking on the field about how they needed motors that Hit really hard and got off the pad. [R R&D singed my Confirmation Card in 1989 there]

Many motors at that time were progressive thrust curves.
